I love, love, love my coat. It’s so beautiful while still keeping me wonderfully warm. The details are immaculate and the craftsmanship is outstanding.
I do have a few small tweaks I would love to see in future velvet coats:
* More front buttons. The single button never stays closed unless I tie the sash. As someone who is not a huge fan of belt ties, this is a little frustrating. More buttons would also cover more of the front in fabric consistently for more warmth.
* Line the hood in velvet (not cotton). As with most fabric hoods, the hood is either on so far that it comes down over my eyes, or it falls down immediately. I think if the lining were velvet, it would have more traction/friction to stay up and in place.
* Line the pockets in cotton (not velvet). Conversely, I find it difficult to open the pockets sometimes. Cotton lining would allow for less friction, allow easier access.
Again, I love my coat so much. I offer these notes purely as suggestions to make it even more perfect.
