"Scarlet garden" !?
This should be called the boring brown garden.
It's called scarlet garden- so your assumption is that the main color is red right?
You see a colored trim all around the outside and it seems like a nice mouthwatering muted deep burgundy especially complimentary with the deep red pomegranates and the berries. Right?
Wrong.
It's brown.
Ho humm boring nothing special ugly mousy brown.
And to add to that-
The snakes in the pictures- vibrant and purple/lavender looking.
The berries in the picture? Vivid purple.
But on my nearly 300$ jacket are they a nice juicy purple like this picture depicts?
No - mine are dull dry dusty reddish boring ugly red brown.
The ENTIRE hood is brown the trim is brown including the cuffs
The waist belt - half brown.
So what did I get for my nearly 300$? Brown birds brown snakes brown trim brown hood red brown berries...
Boring boring disappointing brown everywhere I look on this thing.
Don't get me wrong the embroidery is excellent.
But when I spend almost 300$ on an unlined linen coat and the selling picture shows me purple berries and lavender and purple snakes and appears to have a deep burgundy trim...
Then it arrives and it's all brown brown brown ... Well then ....yeah I'm upset tbh.
The description has choke berries on it " choke berries" !? Your telling me you can detail the exact type of berry that few people have ever eaten or seen... But you can't put the color of the trim IN the description!?
*Shakes head* not cool.
I am not going to throw a fit or send it back, I don't have the time energy or money for that.
But I'm definitely putting this out there to warn others...
Hey guys...pay close attention
This company is messing around with sending people color variants and hoping nobody notices.
You can check this out for yourself - they will sometimes sell things that have altered colors at a cheaper price.
As they should
But I paid full price for my coat expecting beautiful berries and snakes and instead I received a boring and ugly color variation with no discount at all and it is really frustrating.
I've been planning on saving up for a bunch of coats and products from this company but now I'm worried...
Like... What happens if I buy the vivid blue green one and it comes in mostly an ugly grey color?
What if I buy the beautiful purple lavender one and it comes in some ugly pink color?
That's too much risk for hundreds of dollars each time.
My coat is linen so hopefully I can seam rip all the ugly brown trim and either bleach and re- dye it or add my own trim but dang... I shouldn't have to do that for an unlined coat I paid so much money for!
The embroidery that was done in the wrong colors is absolutely permanent... there's pretty much nothing I can do about that.
It really kind of feels like they expect you to be so wowed by the industrial overseas machine embroidery magic that you just overlook the fact that the snakes and the berries are in the wrong color. As well as the fact that they leave the colors out of the description on purpose so they can try and get rid of more mistake stock at full price.
I'm sorry but that's dishonest and people shopping here should know about it and be aware that the embroidery colors that are being sent out are NOT always as advertised.
It's almost like... They received a bad batch produced in the wrong colors... And asked each other...
'hmmm do you think the customer will even notice it or care that it's a completely different and uglier color? Meh let's just ship it to them and if they're mad about it they can go through all the hassle of sending it back bawahaha!'
Well I noticed. And I'm not sending it back but I am also seriously considering not buying anything from these sellers again.
Hello,
To begin, I'm truly sorry that you were disappointed with the colors and that they weren't what you thought. I suspect your screen played a part in this because, for example, the snake in the product photos isn't a vibrant lavender. Also, the berries aren’t “red brown” nor is the snake brown. You mentioned that you don't want to deal with the hassle of a return, but I reached out regardless to offer you one so you don't feel as if you have to be stuck with a garment that you are so unhappy with.
You are entitled to feel how you wish about the colors, but I feel that I have to respond to the second half of your review, which is baselessly accusing us of underhanded and dishonest business practices. This item, specifically, does not have 'incorrect colors' - the linen is the same color as it is advertised and the embroidery also has no issue. If you go through our social media, you can find customer photos that match with our product photos. We try to have the product photos be as color accurate as possible, but we can’t account for how you see the color on the screen or how you perceive the color in person.
Also, this feels like a misrepresentation of how we operate - yes, we do sometimes get items where the colors are not what they were supposed to be. This is a defect in production and we ALWAYS mention this up front. Anyone who has been a customer for long enough can attest to the fact that when something comes in and isn't correctly produced, we are incredibly transparent and do our best to make sure everyone is aware, has options, and is kept updated on the situation. A few months ago when we received a shipment of jackets that had a color discrepancy, I personally sent individual messages to a couple hundred customers to let them know what the situation was, and the office manager diligently kept track of everyone’s answers so we could resolve the situation in a way where everyone was satisfied.
Typing out a fictional scenario where we are plotting to send out defective stock without saying anything to customers is, to say it simply, incredibly insulting to our efforts as a small team. We take our responsibility to provide customers with a good and accurate product seriously, and at this point we have a number of reviews that vouch for the color accuracy of our listing vs the products.
As stated before, the offer of a return for a refund is still on the table provided that the garment is still in good condition. Thank you.

Really cute embroidery and design. I was surprised that there was not a liner on the inside for a more finished look
This is a very special piece of clothing! It is much more! I treated me to get this and do not regret !
Putting it on feels as if wrapping myself in a fairy tale!
I only wish the hood was more substantial , but if I roll it a bit it looks beautiful as a wrapped collar .
Absolutely BEAUTIFUL.
My husband has been eyeing the velvet version for months, but he overheats so easily. The moment I saw the linen version on sale I knew he needed it for his birthday. It fits him perfectly (we followed the size chart) and he couldnt be more pleased. 10/10
Comfy, cozy, easy to wear, temperature-regulating, and stylish as hell! Got SO MANY compliments on it wearing it to a trip to San Francisco. Absolutely will be buying more from this brand.
Two minor complaints:
- I wish it came in a XS. I'm a small human and their "small" is still pretty baggy on me!
- The red button came off *immediately*. I sewed it back on and the buttonhole itself is sturdy, but if you buy this, I'd suggest just sewing the red button down by-hand before wearing. Another review had the same complaint.
